Band Bio
Ecce Hobo is comprised of John Feodorov (lead vocals, guitar, violin), Paul Amiel (voice, keyboard, harp, flutes, zhang, gu qin), Mark Reynolds (drums, percussion, keyboard, bass).
John and Paul are long-time collaborators. Meeting in high school orchestra, they started several bands in the Los Angeles area, as well as art bands created for specific one-night performances, or InstaBands, including names such as Mr. Goddammit, Shit From Shinola and Uncle Romulus. They also branched into theatrical productions as well as making several short films. John and Paul then moved to Santa Fe to research Navajo ceremonial chant, and continued their musical exploits with their medieval group Sans Merci, inspired by their friendship with world-renown medieval consort Sequentia. John later moved to Seattle to continue his critically-acclaimed visual arts career and also to form the band Skinwalkers with Mark Reynolds, and Paul to Nanjing, China to study the ancient and mysterious Chinese instrument, the Gu Qin, and then to Ankara, Turkey, to study Ney flute and Turkish classical music. As fate would have it, Feodorov, Amiel, and Reynolds regrouped in Seattle in 2005, and along with electronic stylist Amanda Sloane created, Ecce Hobo.
